Book Summary: Black Trans Feminism by Dr. Marcus Bey

Hi friends!

Here is a summary I curated over the summer of Black Trans Feminism by Dr. Marcus Bey.

I’m starting a new series of book summaries to help those who may have trouble analyzing and studying these complex works. This way, most people, regardless of education access and time constraints, have the opportunity to read and learn these books! These summaries are quite extensive, so if you're looking for an in-depth analysis, you have access to what you need. Yet, if you are under a time constraint, you can just skim through the chapters and sections you want to read about, and then go on about your day.

In this book, Dr. Marcus Bey discusses and recalibrates the understanding of black and transgender identity as well as black feminist theory through different radical modalities. This book revolutionizes the way we can all understand womanness, transness, and blackness.

Enjoy!

Brooke O.
